Dream Valley Corporation’s “Vamanan” which was touted as an edge of the seat thriller turns out to be a damp squib. What else can be said of a film that has been poorly conceptualized with ideas borrowed from Hollywood films like “Enemy of the State” and similar genre movies. The actors in the movie be it the new kid on the block “Subramaniyapuram” Jai, debutant Priya Anand or the glamorous Lakshmi Rai all have one thing in common and that is to be very mediocre in their acting.
The director I.Ahmed seems to have lost the plot of a commercial entertainer in his first movie itself. The story begins on a brisk and a glamorous note with Lakshmi Rai in a bikini, modeling for an ad shoot where the camera used for shooting goes haywire (where logic seems to have been completely forgotten) and the twist in the tale is exposed to audience in the first few minutes itself.
